Two second half goals from Sam Heinzl earned the Lions swell deserved draw against a strong Eastbounre side. Playing after a two week break for half term the lions started slowly but maintained control of the ball without causing Eastbourne any significant problems. As the half progressed the tempo of the game increased and chances started to appear at both end. Jonathan Cornish made a number of timely interceptions and saves for Lewes whilst Max Griggs, Jack Meacher both had several godd chances which were stopper by the Eastbourne keeper. Harry Davenport and Jamie Cookwe both put in great shifts in supporting attacking moves whilst still defending well. joe Rideout was his usual calm self marshalling the defence well and providing a key pivotal role in midfield. The second half saw Eastbourne start with more desire and sloppy defending by Mansell led to a own goal. This was shortly followed by a well struck corner putting Eastbourne 2-0 up. The Lions showed great character and for the final 20 minutes created many chances. Max Griggs putting in a man of the match performance. Following a well worked short corner Jack Meacher set up Sam Heinzl who calmly made it 2-1. The final Few minutes saw many chances until Heinzl latched on to a lose ball in the D to draw the game.
