Lions continue winning streak away to South Saxon Warriors

A 3pm start at South Saxons presented the Lions with their further away trip of the season. With the manager and half the team delayed by traffic reducing the pre-match preparations the Lions started slowly against a well prepared South Saxon side sporting several County players. Jonathan Cornish in goal for his first appearance of the season made several crucial saves before against the run of play the Lions put togther a flowing move neatly dispatched by Max Griggs. This rallied the Lions and moving the ball quickly around the opposition further chances resulted. 2 of theses were converted by Jack Meacher and then Archie Sherwood score another after a fine interception from Harry Devenport in defence which set up a quick counter attack. The Lions turned around at half-time with a comfortable 4-0 cushion. South Saxons rallied in the second half and although the few chances they created were expertly dealt with by the defence expertly marshalled by Joe Rideout. Further goals wre scored by Adam Stnely and man oof the match Tom Black. South Saxons scored their only goal in the last few minutes. A good alround performance on the road for the Lions.
