A solid performance from a young Lions team which was supported by solid displays from Dylan Wiliams and Charlie Cooke overcame a tough South Saxon's team. After great approach play by Dylan, Toby and Jamie Coombe the ball was slipped to Henry Roser who angle the ball across the face of the goal for a diving Jago to touch home. Hugh Middleton, Charlie Cooke and Toby Izzard took a grip on midfield and further chances came and went. Charlie took the opportunity to score an outstanding solo goal to put the Lions 2-0 up. South Saxons responded with 2 goals which despite a solid goal keeping performance by Dirren. This galvanised the team and both Baranaby Heinzl and Louis Soudain played outstandingly well in defence showing great composure under pressure with both of them receiving man of match awards. Rio Traoke, Joe Wenstrom, and Ben Battle all contributed to an improved second half performance moving the ball around intelligently, laying on 2nd second half goals for Henry and Toby.
An away trip to Brighton is next up for the Lions next saturday.
