The lions gave debuts to Rio Troake, Joe Wenstrom, Chilli Brinkmann and goal keeper Dirren Quinn who all equipped themselves well on their first outing for the U16s. Lewes started the game brightly and created a number of chances pinning Horsham in their own defending third for long periods. several short corners were created and blocked or saved by the Horsham defence. Hugh Porter going close on a number of occasions, however following a rare Horsham attack a short corner was awarded and although Stan Hughes cleared the first shot the follow up was lifted across the D for a Horsham player to dispatch into the roof of the net - a harsh goal to concede. Lewes response well and Bertie Collison and Jago Hussain combined well with Jago showing great pace and skill launching a tantalising ball into the D which Henry Rosser hit first time giving the keeper no chance. Ben Battle, confident from his last week hat trick, created several good changes which Joe Wenstrom playing solidly on his debut.
Turning around at 1-1 the Lions were confident that more goals would come and the second hal upped their performance with great efforts from Abraham and Charlie Cooke, with Louis Soudain playing solidly in the centre of midfield. Jamie Coombs kept the pressure on the opposition with great running and quickly taken free hits. After a solid debut Rio Troake retired from action following a blow to his ankle. The defence of Leon Keating, Dylan Williams continue to show great maturity and were supported well by Chilli on his debut . Ben battle scored what was to be the winner 15 mins into the second half touching in a great cross from Jago. A confident all round performance bringing four wins on the trott for the u16s.
