A more positive performance against a young Crowborough side saw the Lions U16 side score 7 goals before casual defending in the last minute allow Crowborough a consolation goal. Back from the half-term break with a roar the Lions quickly settled into a good rhythm with the midfield in particular moving the ball around with speed and intelligence. Fred Squires-Saunders opened the scoring for the Lions with a well taken goal at the far post following excellent link up play on the right started from defense by Sam Webster and man of the match, Cameron Baker - making a great return - Adam Stonely drove to the by line before smashing a cross to the far post for Fred to convert. That opened the flood gates with Adam picking up a pair before half-time either side of a well placed shot from the top of the D by Sam Worlidge. Tom Johansen, making his debut, played solidly on the left of defense and was full of running. Jo Fitch and Harry Davenport kept the defensive line tight. Half time score 4-0 and Lions continued the second half with a further 3 goals. Adam completing his hat trick, Archie Sherwood converting a penalty corner and final goal of the game from Saw Webster who latched on to a fine pass from Jack Bage to power in to the circle before hitting an unstoppable shot past a motionless keeper. An improved performance all round.
