The second game of the season saw the Lions continue to dominate the game but again failing to find the scoring touch. Against a solid Brighton side who defended the majority of the match with 8 men behind the ball Lewes failed to find a way to score. Jonathan Cornish in the Lewes goal dealt easily with the few breakaway chances that Brighton created. Harry Devonport and Adam Stonely played solidly in their first games of the season whilst Sam Webster returned fully charged with a energetic attacking display from right wing back delivering numerous dangerous balls into the opposition D. The midfield was full of running and opening up Brightons defense but too often failing with the killer final pass. Charlie Kingsbury put in another fine performance on the left wing and was unlucky not to win the match for the Lewes in the final 10 minutes. Next weeks game finds the Lions away at league leaders East Grinstead and thursday nights training focusing on finding their goal scoring touch.
