The Lions are coming together as a team and once again scored more goals then the rest of the mens section put together. Goal machine Hugh Porter bagged another brace whilst a man of the match performance from Sam Webster also scored a goal in each half. Jago Hussain in only his second match for the Lions chalked up his first two goals. Connor Doyle mad a sound debut for the Lions again showing the strength of this years Lions squad. Great performances from the Cook Bros with Charlie playing a very steady game in defence alongside Ollie Loader. Billy Palmer was once again unlucky with a cruel deflection from a Lewes stick which gave Crowborough a hardly deserved consolation goal.
Teamwork and speed on the counter attack was impressive as Lewes launched wave after wave of attacks. Goal of the game for Sam webber again started in defence moving through nearly the whole team a couple of slick interchanges between Charlie Kingsbury and Jamie Cook followed by a neat one two at the top of the D with Drew setting up Sam who cracked the ball into the left hand corner from 15 metres. Solid performance from the rest of the side bodes well for next weeks away trip to second in the league Hailsham.
