A first half brace from Hugh Porter and followed by a second half brace by Oliie Loader supported a fine win by the U16 boys
Playing with confidence from the start Lewes produced a fine performance romping to a 7 - 1 win over Worthing Wolves. Despite the absence of several regulars the Lions showed the strength of their squad with Ben Battle opening the scoring for Lewes after 15 mins following up a rebound from a well struck shot by Sam Webster who once again ran tirelessly and controlled the game from central midfield. Hugh Porter added 2 further goals snapping up a half chance and turning in an Ollie Amos cross to put the lions 3-0 up at half-time. In the second half Lewes further raised their game with Man of the Match Ollie Amos setting up a further 2 goals following excellent wing play on the left with Charlie Kingsbury finishing a flowing move with a rasping shot leaving the Worthing keeper rooted to the spot. Drew Wain playing in midfield ran and harried tirelessly and his efforts were rewarded with a fine solo goal. Either side of this Ollie Loader picked up 2 goals following an improved short corner routine which produced many chances and saves from the Worthing defence. Worthing were reward with a breakaway goal leaving Billy Palmer, who once again was commanding in goal, no chance. Louis Sudan made his debut for the U16 with a polished performance.
