LIONESSES LACK OOMPH AGAINST A STRONG B&H SIDE

Young side over awed by older girls.

Brighton and Hove have 2 sides in the Development league and were too strong for a very young and inexperienced Lewes Side, winning comprehensively 5 - 0. With the majority of Lewes Players aged 11 or 12, the skill and desire was evident but it was the strength and pace of Brighton that blew us off the pitch. Lucy Nuttall and Olivia Wiles in the two central defence positions played beautifully together and Eliza Hutchinson played almost every position on the pitch with her tenacity and desire to drive Lewes over the half way line. Nina Blackwell shows huge potential from the right midfield and Minnie Wood was tenacious up front, chasing down every ball. With very few players to call on, our squad is small but the heart is big and willing. Every game brings new lessons and the future looks bright for the lovely lionesses.
