It was fantastic to see the girls out yesterday for a friendly against Chichester. For many it was their first real bit of competitive sport since the start of the pandemic and for others it was their first time on a full size pitch, they all did great! The weather, while great for the spectators, made it harder for the girls, but having 2 x subs meant we were able to give them all regular breaks.
Tjadine's ask of the girls was simple, keep your shape, move up and back as a team and push the ball wide. On the whole the girls did that, although the inevitable tiredness towards the end along with people playing out of position meant the shape was lost a little in the last quarter. Looking forward the defence held pretty well, but more work is needed in the attacking space with a focus on scoring needed.
Notable mentions to Matilda and Milly - the two keepers who, along with the defence, kept the score sheet to 0-4. Sienna and Eliza for their first U16 game and Nina for being selected player of the match by Chi.
