Having been well beaten in last week’s match, Lewes lionesses turned up with a large squad to take on second in the league Eastbourne.
Lewes carved out numerous chances in the first half, with some impressive interplay between their forward players of Rosie Hall, Kate Brown, Afra Hussain and Jemima Blewitt.
Eastbourne defence held firm though and there was no way through for the home team. Lewes had 4 new players making their debuts this week and all performed really well. Martha Hempel, Maddy Bullen and twins Isobel and Eleanor Nyron stepped up and worked exceptionally hard on behalf of the team.
Eastbourne were just a little bit stronger and scored twice in the first half and once in the second to secure all 3 points.
Lewes should not be disappointed though as they are improving week on week and have been unlucky to come up against the top two teams so early on in their campaign. All players show huge amount of promise. Next week they take on Brighton and Hove.
