Lewes were shining like the sun, on a beautiful autumnal day, feeling like a number 1 - which they still are, top of the league table for another week.
Sue ‘goalatron’ Storey in particular was smiling, having fun; unleashing 7 in total of the 9, taken in her usual inimitable style. Not that it was all about the goals, the work that the whole team did on the set-ups and lay-offs was truly champagne hockey.
Dionne dealt with The Amazonian beautifully despite having a lot of work to do. Alison The Bruce shut the door on her a goodly few times too.
Defence also shone from the right back, a fine marauding display from Steph, and welcome back to Tanya who had in unenviable job of marking the ringer!
The new formation worked a treat, playing to the strengths of the team and special mention & credit must go to the Inners, who luckily remembered that position from the 80’s...
Maybe it was the inspirational whiteboard chat from Zoe, who led from the front on the pitch, that properly motivated the crew, but whatever it was it was a joy to play in! Thank you ladies.
