Lewes were outplayed in a game that the ladies in green have already assigned to the archives. From the outset, they seemed to lack gumption and their get up and go had definitely got up and gone somewhere between the changing room and the pitch. It would be unfair on the girls to say they didn’t have chances, they did make a few, but they seemed to have lost their recent good form and lacked the cohesion to pull it all together and get numbers on the score sheet. Conversely, Burgess Hill used their fast, young players to create speedy, skillful opportunities and made the best use of their formation.
Lewes now have a 2 week break to recooperate – their next game is on 27th February.
