Always underestimated, never imitated.

Captain Mould’s team talk this week focused on ‘Playing our own hockey’ and ‘Can we score 2 goals today please’. Well, they may not have troubled the Middleton keeper but they certainly did play their own hockey. In one of the most impressive displays ever seen by 2 small dogs the ladies passed the ball around like Barry and Paul Chuckle. ‘To me, to you’ was the mantra as they moved up the wings, attacking from the back.

Full credit again has to go to the Lewes defence who ruffled Middleton’s feathers and clipped the wings of the key players. Nipps marking like a teacher at midnight; Laura flying off the line at defensive short corners; Big hitting Bruce hitting them big and Heps bringing up the rear in her bus man’s beanie.

Sport’s Personality of the match went to Keeper Dionne Gooding for belly laugh of the game after she missed a sitter when a momentary lapse of reason saw her fall flat on her face like a newly felled Redwood.
