LEAGUE: SLL Div 2
HOME TEAM: Eastbourne Ladies 3s 2
AWAY TEAM: Lewes Ladies 4s 1 (Storey)
Well to be honest this counts as practically a win for us really, despite the score line.
It was an early doors game for the Ladies 4s this week which saw Darcy Gallagher rearrange her trip to Birmingham so that she could play, and Rhiannon Burgess ‘utiity player’ playing on the forward line. The game started and we soon caught up despite the humidity at the start of the game
Eastbourne scored early on in the first half. However, we held our ground, supported beautifully by Becky Wycherley who discovered the magical powers of her face protection as she calmly and routinely cleared the ball from the D.
The second half started and we were on point from the start, with great runs up the right from Hannah Burrage. We battled hard and scored our first goal of the season from Sue Storey after a great team build up from the back line.
Then we played our secret weapon as team manager Alison Bruce came on the pitch and smoothly played the ball straight up the left wing.
Despite the fact that Eastbourne scored another goal, we played really well as a team and stood our ground.
