Lewes had won their last two games and although short of regular players, had an abundance of youth. The game was fast and physical but all the players stepped up and with some outstanding play down the right hand right side between Jess Wycherley and Ellen Bailles, Lewes created opportunities down the channels and were 1 nil up at half time. Chichester came out strongly in the second half and scored from a penalty corner but Lewes continued their passing game and were rewarded with a great counter attacking goal finished off by Sam Houston. Poor defending from Lewes meant Chichester had an overload of about 4 players in the dying moments and took full advantage, equalling the score.
