FIXTURE: SLL Div 1
HOME TEAM: Lewes Ladies 3s 3 (Blackwell, Lee, Morris)
AWAY TEAM: Burgess Hill Ladies 2's 1
In their Burgess Hill opponents, Lewes Ladies 3s faced an opposition yet to drop points this season - so the challenge was always going to be significant.
After a torrid first 10 minutes for Lewes, the tide seemed to turn, and the East Sussex side started playing the confident passing hockey they knew they were capable of.
Pressure told at a penalty corner, with debutante Lizzie Morris finding the net for Lewes.
In the second half player of the match Catriona Milne seemed to find new confidence and controlled the centre of the pitch stepping in to turn numerous Burgess Hill attacks into attacking opportunities for Lewes.
Two further goals from Calysta Lee and Naomi Blackwell secured the three points for the home team.
A consolation goal for Burgess Hill came too late to be any sort of threat.
With no game next week, Lewes will face Brighton on the 4th November.
