Match report: Amy Graves
From the outset, Lewes took full control of the game and had much of the possession throughout the 1st half. Emily Chevassut and Hannah Williams in particular caused problems for the Worthing defence. After 20 minutes, a textbook passage of play took place, starting with an expertly picked pass from Kerry Fitzpatrick in defence to Lucy Petit in midfield. Petit then created a 2 on 1 scenario, with some silky skills to get past three players and a perfectly timed pass to Boyse, who swept the ball past the keeper to put the visitors in the lead going into halftime.
Lewes keep up the pressure in the second half and had numerous penalty corners and some agonisingly close attempts at goal. Fitzpatrick found the back of the net after a goalmouth tussle on the 50-minute mark and Boyse got her second from one of the penalty corners with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Overall, an impressive team performance although Lewes could have got more goals with the number of chances they created. They move up to 3rd in the league with a tough game next week, at home, against league leaders Hailsham 1s.
