From the whistle the Lewes ladies built excellent patterns of play holding out for opportune moments to attack the D. It wasn’t long before this game plan paid off and a decisive cross back to the penalty spot saw Laura Molloy clinch their first goal. Within the latter stages of the second half, Aldershot stole the ball off the Lewes team and expertly secured a goal to take them into halftime 1-1.
The halftime chat focussed on speeding up the team's reaction times on the pitch and focusing on moving the ball around at pace until space appeared for the attack. Soon the magic came when space appeared for a long ball to be played from defence up to Emma Fuller, who placed a perfectly timed ball across the D for Laura Molloy to score her second goal of the match. Lewes was not done and some trademark Anna Hilton skills soon took hold when she picked the ball up in the defending half and proceeded to beat player after player before sinking the ball into the back of the goal. Silky skills at their best!
The final whistle went and a 3-1 win meant 3 points on the board!
