Match report: Flaminia Martin
The game started as it intended to go on with intensity and high tempo play from both teams. After a 25 minute stalemate, Eastbourne benefitted from a series of short corners with one drag flick being expertly saved by centre-back Sarah Hall and some excellent work from Robyn Creeden. Unfortunately, after a peppering on the Lewes defence, Eastbourne managed to put the ball in the back of the goal to take them 1-0 up. This was soon followed by another converted short corner from Eastbourne to take them 2-0 up at halftime.
The halftime team chat focussed on maintaining our positivity and enjoying the game and Lewes came out fighting in the second half. Lewes almost broke back with a fantastic short corner but unfortunately, the goal was disallowed. Eastbourne soon found their final goal from open play which sent them to a 3-0 victory. Lots to be learnt from the game and special congratulations to the player of the match, Robyn Creeden.
