With an inspirational pre-game chat, the ladies donned their green shirts and were ready to build on their performance from the previous week.
Lewes dominated the first 15 minutes and a decisive pass was sent into the D to Laura Malloy, whose reverse stick hit graced the back netting. Lewes felt the rhythm and were clinical with their precise passes and solid tackles all over the pitch. Chichester had some great success in their attacking D and secured some well deserved short corners, but goalkeeper, Robyn Creeden, had quick hands and fast feet that Darcey Bussell would have been proud of. Robyn saved shot after shot. All of a sudden the half-time whistle arrived and the green team gathered in the goal to absorb the inspirational words of their Captain once more.
A quote from Freya Loughton got the team motivated and a quick replenish of energy from some thirst quenching oranges Lewes were ready for the second half.
Chichester found some form to put away a short corner. After this Lewes kept it simple, passed the ball around the pitch, communicated and encouraged each other as a team which resulted in a second goal to secure the win for the Lewes Ladies.
