They were quicker than their opponents throughout and, but for some profligacy in front of goal, would have won by a clearer margin. Lewes were 5-1 up at half time with the best goal being from youngster Sam Heinzl who cut inside his marker and slapped the ball into the far corner of the goal. Other goals came from Chris Marchant who completed a hat-trick from penalty corners and Martyn Stillman. St Francis grabbed a goal just before half time.
In the second half Lewes continued to dominate midfield with Billy Smart and Sean Rowlands directing the hosts attacks and youngster Jack Troak breaking up the rare St Francis attacks. Stillman ended a three man move to make it 6-1 but Lewes's habit of conceding immediately continued as hesitancy in the hosts defence was punished by St Francis from close range. In the final 10 minutes Paul Spruce converted from close range and Sam Matthews scored a fine individual goal with St Francis grabbing two further goals. Lewes's final match on 18 April is away to runaway league winners Horsham.
