Men's 4s Win 3-1 against Middleton Mens 2's

Lewes Men's 4s started slow against Middleton 2’s who pressed hard from the start; the "Legends" showing that they had not played for a number of weeks.

This resulted in an early goal in the bottom left for Middleton. For the rest of the first half it was a hard fought battle to and fro with a number of misses and saves on both sides, until in the closing minutes of the first half Rob Heinzl finally found the target and hammered one in from a penalty corner leaving it 1-1 at half time.

In the second half, with enhanced visibility under our fantastic new lights, and a formation change under the guidance of the Legend that is Matt Lloyd, ensured Lewes dominated the rest of the game.

The second goal for Lewes came from a fantastic cross from James Copplestone past the keeper to the waiting stick of Billy Smart who slotted it in behind the keeper. New signing Toby Hutchinson was frustrated that it didn’t reach him further out on the left post.

A third goal from a fantastic strike by Matt Lloyd on a penalty corner finished it for Middleton despite their best efforts and continued pressure.
