The Lewes Legends started strong, controlling the game from the start. Fantastic first goal from newly returned Liam Russell, who then made a fantastic cross to James Copplestone’s eager stick for the second.

Lewes then took their foot off the gas and allowed an unlucky rebound from the post on a penalty corner to be touched in by their solid centre forward leaving it 2-1 at half time.

After a rousing team discussion the Legends came back and dominated the second half having a large number of near misses but 2 actual goals hammered home by the returned from injury and surgery Billy Smart. Final score 4-1. Great game, great opposition and special notice to the Worthing goalie.
