Skipper Rob Heinzl opened the scoring with a trademark strike from a penalty corner and Lewes doubled the lead when Andy Green scored from another penalty corner. A plucky St Francis side caused the hosts defence problems but goalie Chris Sharpe made some good saves and young defender Jack Troak's strong tackles together with good covering by Mark Tonkin and Ed Cade prevented any goals.
In the second half Green's accurate pass saw Heinzl deftly deflect the ball into the goal and then Heinzl set up Stonley on the far post to tap in. In the final ten minutes Paul Spruce scored from close range and Heinzl scored his hat trick and Lewes's sixth from an overtime penalty corner strike.
Lewes remain in third place a point behind Chichester and two behind leaders Hailsham with five games remaining.
