The Men's 3 faced a rather experienced Eastbourne 3s side, away, in gloomy wet weather. Lewes got left behind in the start of the match, conceding in the first few minutes.
Stan Hughes was strong in goal but was left exposed on a few occasions, causing Eastbourne to capitalise on their chances with huge hits into the back of the net. Lewes panicked and gave away multiple short corners in the first half, offering chances to the skilful Easdtbourne centre back to drag flick the ball off the top left post.
The Eastbourne players weren't afraid to use their physical side, which resulted in cards being handed out for some appalling attempts to take the ball. However, Lewes managed to keep composed, in the last 10 minutes, playing the ball from the back up the left wing to allowing George Martin to slot in a goal, giving the 3s something to celebrate back in the warm clubhouse.
