Lewes 3’s were confident hosting Worthing 3’s who were 4 Points behind having played one more game than them.

The game was a scruffy affair, however it didn’t take long for Lewes to stamp their authority on the game with George Martin rifling the ball into the bottom corner with well worked goal assisted by Guillaume Green. However it didn’t take long for Worthing to bounce back with a well worked equaliser finished off with a back post tap in with the ball being played round keeper Billy Palmer.

Lewes went into Half Time with the intention of trying to correct any first half errors and win the second half, and it didn’t take long for this message to be put to work. George Martin scoring his second within the first 10 minutes of the re start with the ball being passed round a beaten Worthing Keeper. Lewes continued to hold their lead however failed to add a third with the play consistently being broken down by a resolute defence.

With 20 minutes left Tom Harvey added a third when he was given some space and fired the ball into the backboard, he shortly then added his second with another well worked goal finished with a reversed stick hit into the bottom corner. And with Worthing heads down Pulley added a 5th towards the end. Full Time came and Lewes walked off 5-1 Victors with 3 Points in the bag maintaining their 6th place position in the League. Lewes travel to 8th place Eastbourne 3’s next week hoping to gain 3 points.
