Lewes 3s can't freeze out Horsham

Due to the weather the game was started 15 minutes late to thaw out the pitch.

The game started and Horsham looked the better side however Lewes kept pressing. With Billy Palmer in goal the defence was relaxed, perhaps too relaxed as Horsham put the first goal in, then managed a second swiftly after. Towards the end of the first half Palmer stopped yet another Horsham shot, and the Lewes defence did brilliantly to keep the barrage out. However, it wasn’t enough and Horsham scored again to make it 0-3 at the break.

After a rethink from Lewes they went out gunning for goals and finally looked like they could bring the game back. After even play for 20 minutes Tom Harvey used his skills and with a pass to Ollie Amos played it back into the D with George Martin ready to receive and score the first of Lewes' two. The second came with 6 minutes to go as Lewes kept the pressure up with Horsham putting up a good fight. Once again Harvey used his skills and put a ball into the D and, when everyone thought it was going wide, Richard Pulley put it in the goal. With a valiant effort from both teams the game ended 2-3 to Horsham. Amos was voted as man of the match closely followed by Harvey, Pulley and Palmer as contenders.
