From the first whistle Brighton were on the front foot using the width...

...well and tearing the Lewes defence apart, and after several near misses they final took the lead. Lewes managed to break away and Sam Newman managed to find Max Rhodes unmarked in the D. Brighton hit back straight away with a great finish. Lewes continued to be camped on the back foot, but with 10 minutes to go Lewes broke away and pulled back level. But the half wasn’t over there. With mere seconds left in the half Brighton regained the lead. 2-3 half time.

Second half carried on in the same vain with Lewes pushed onto the back foot and eventually early in the second half Brighton got their 4th. Lewes kept their heads held high and managed to gain some control in the game, and with 20 minutes to go they got a goal back. Brighton kept pushing to get their 2 goal lead back which allowed Lewes to break away and level the match for a third time with just over 10 minutes left to go. With both teams now searching for the winner the game became a mid-slog. But with barely five minutes left Lewes found themselves with time and space in the Brighton D, and finally Lewes had the lead. The final few minutes were a tense affair with Brighton on an all-out attack, but Lewes held on for the victory.

Despite the win Lewes thoughts were with Max Wotten who finished the game needing 16 stitches and nursing a fractured eye socket. Get well soon!
