After 5 wins on the bounce Lewes 3s arrived on the day hoping to extend their winning streak. Unfortunately they started the first half like they expected to extend it. Saint Francis started slow and lacklustre and were matched by a Lewes team that showed none of the commitment and energy seen in previous performances. A solid strike from a Saint Francis short corner saw them take the lead.
The bracing half time talk would hopefully be enough to reignite the Lewes fire but unfortunately it was not.
Lewes came alive in the last 20 minutes with a period of sustained pressure and several short corners that could have seen them win by a bakers dozen but a solid Saint Francis defence and a couple of goal line saves saw the visitors retain their 1 goal lead to a rather damp end.
