A 1-1 draw for Lewes 2s as the tough weather conditions provoked frustration in the team. They maintained a 1-0 lead for the majority of the first half thanks to Seb Daniels for slotting a penalty flick into the bottom right corner after a scrap in an attacking short corner. A short corner was then awarded to Mid Sussex a couple of minutes before the half time whistle and they came through with a goal. During the second half downpour Lewes would not back down in their defence as Dan Blackwell (awarded man of the match) and Sam Rea made sure that no one would get past them, with some memorable tackles and stick skill to follow. A special mention has to go to Goalkeeper Simon Bullmore as he made some impressive saves. Overall Lewes fought hard, created lots of opportunities and their extremely rigorous defence gave them a good result.
