A bad head injury to the Worthing centre back disrupted the hosts as he had to go to hospital for stitches just before halftime and Rob Heinzl immediately got Lewes back into the match scoring from close range.
In the second half Lewes equalised when Heinzl scored from a penalty corner and then a skillful run by Edward Rea down the left wing saw his cross converted into the goal by Heinzl for his hat trick. Worthing came back and with ten minutes remaining a cross went into the Lewes goal off a defender’s stick to level things up. It was Lewes who grabbed the winner in the final minutes when another cross from the left was struck high into the goal on his reverse stick by man of the match Heinzl for his and Lewes’s fourth and the winning goal.
