but will view this as two points lost not one point gained. Crawley were the better team for the opening twenty minutes hitting the post and wasting chances but Lewes scored first when youngster Max Griggs skilfully dribbled into the circle and slotted the ball under the goalkeeper. Crawley then equalised from a penalty corner but Lewes took the lead just on half-time when Ed Thomas coolly converted a penalty stroke.
Lewes made it 3-1 early in the second half when Sam Murray scored from close range but Crawley responded and made it 3-2 midway through. Lewes then dominated possession in monsoon conditions and had chances to make the game safe but they missed opportunities and were made to pay for their profligacy with ten minutes left when Crawley equalised. Sam Matthews and Billy Smart in midfield and youngsters Peter Fuller and Griggs up front all played well.
