Crowborough started well showing they could pass and keep possession but Lewes full backs Toby Rolph, John Harrop and Simon Murray remained solid throughout allowing the team to apply constant pressure that soon resulted in Steve Fuller's first of the game; a cross raised high from a defender's stick and volleyed at full stretch into the bottom corner. Numerous chances were missed until Alex Pewter slotted home to put the visitors 2-0 up at half-time.
Lewes welcomed Toby Hutchinson and Henry Roser to Adult Hockey from the Lions and both played well showing good potential in forward wing positions with lots of running and good stick skills.
In the second half, Goal Keeper Jon Cornish was rarely troubled. Each Crowborough attack was confidently dealt with and turned into a counter-attack resulting in 3 further goals from Malcolm Wain, Dax Debice and a second for Steve Fuller.
The new Lewes 5s formation and sub rotation is working. Next week the 5s are at Home 4.30pm vs South Saxons 4s.
