The Lions welcomed back Stan Chalmers for there third league fixture of the season against a well drilled and skill full East Grinstead side. These 2 sides had one of the closest and exciting games of last season with the Lions winning 5-4 unfortunately the differences in the sides were well exposed on a damp Falmer pitch. Lewes weren't allowed time on the ball with EG playing an energetic pressing game. In goal Jonathan Cornish put in another commanding performance and made many saves keeping the score to 0-2 at half-time. A n improved start to the second hald saw Lewes create a number of chances with Archie Sherwood, Adam Stonely and Charlie Kingsbury all going close. The midfield of Sam Worlidge and Fred Squire-Saunders began to move the ball quickly creating further opportunities. Mid way through the second half Harry Davenport was injured and despite, sterling work by the defense; Jo Fitch, Sam Webster and jack Bage the EG pressure was too great and Lewes conceded a third just before the final whistle.
