Match report: Amy Graves
Once again, though, their passing let them down and although Lewes had the majority of the play, too many passes went astray. However, Kerry Fitzpatrick found the back of the net after the ball rebounded short corner strike and she coolly flicked it over the goalie. But EG always looked dangerous on the counter-attack so Lewes had to remain disciplined, which they duly did.
The second half saw some great individual runs from Hannah Williams and some excellent supporting play from Rosie Youngman but to no avail. EG snatched one back midway through the 2nd half and then another shortly afterwards. Despite the best endeavours from the team particularly Captain Fi Tubb and Innei Shum, the greens did not convert their chances.
And then, on the last stroke of the game, EG converted their short corner making it 3-1 to the home side.
