From the whistle, the 2s played an excellent passing game causing problems for Hailsham in all areas of the pitch. The ball barely left Hailsham's half during the 1st period and Lewes looked strong on both the left and right.
Hannah Williams scored an amazing goal for Lewes 25 minutes into the 1st half and although Lewes deserved to be further ahead at the break, the home team were only one goal up going into the halftime break.
As expected the visitors came out strong in the 2nd period of the game and scored on the 50-minute mark. Despite the pressure, the Lewes’ defence held strong and did well to soften subsequent Hailsham attacks. On the 60th minute mark, Amany Rus scored an amazing goal from an acute angle to make it 2-1 and that is how it deservingly stayed for the remainder of the game.
A thoroughly deserved 3 points for Lewes with no particular MOTM. All players played a hugely important part in the victory. This is a team with great potential and huge promise for the 2nd half of the season.
