With a few key players missing, Lewes Ladies 2s feared the worst as they faced top of the league Chichester who were reaching double figures in most of their games.
However, with the team working together to play a tactical defensive game, Chichester were thwarted for much of the first half. An excellent debut in goal for 3rd XI keeper, Hope Abercrombie, kept the leaders to a mere 2 goal advantage at half time.
A determined performance in the second half saw Chichester grow more and more frustrated, although they managed to score a well worked goal and from a penalty corner.
A fine performance by Lewes, with a score line that many felt flattered the away team.
