A disappointing start to the game saw Lewes go down quite early to the bottom of the league team.

Lewes looked quite nervous for a while after that and, although they had a lot of the play, did not look like threatening the Eastbourne goal until a hard fought goal from, new to the team, Emma Franks put the visitors on an even keel just before half time.

Despite not having subs, Lewes put in a much better performance in the second half, with several good strikes on goal from Ruth Walshe, Dori Grijseels and Kerry Fitzpatrick. Unfortunately, these efforts were all saved by the Eastbourne keeper and the score stayed stubbornly as a draw right to the final whistle.
