LEAGUE: Sussex Ladies League Premier Division
HOME TEAM: Lewes Ladies 2's 7 (Fitzpatrick 1, Fuller 1, Hersey 1, Molloy 3, Tubb 1)
AWAY TEAM: Eastbourne Ladies 2’s 0
Our first home game of the season was a great game. Although we only had 11 girls playing, we were stoked.
Amongst our players were Daisy Blewitt and Calysta Morris, who came up from the 3s to play for us. They played very well in attack despite the hot weather and the lack of subs.
From the first whistle we were in control of the game.
Because of the excellent pressure, we managed to get into the Eastbourne circle, and it was only a matter of time before the first goal was scored. After that we were hungry for more, and we ended up scoring 4 times in the first half. Meanwhile, despite the best efforts from the Eastbourne girls, we didn’t concede any goals.
The previous Saturday we were also leading at half-time, but gave up this lead. We were determined to not let that happen again. We worked hard to extend our lead in the second half and managed to score another three times.
We were all knackered after the final whistle, but happy with the way we played and the result.
We’ll now try to take this momentum into our game in Chichester next week.
