The local rivalry led to a frantic first half with the Lewes team securing an early goal but conceding two goals before half time. Anxieties were quelled with a rousing team talk that refocused the team on their objective.

In the second half, there was a fantastic dominance of play by the Lewes team with multiple outcomes in the attacking D including a further two goals to put the Lewes team 3-2 ahead. From then on the ones defended and attacked as a unit to ensure their win.

All three goals came from short corners. The team voted Emma Pavitt player of the match with the incredible opportunities she opened up on the pitch with her speed, skill and work rate. The team is determined for the season and hungry for promotion so a good start to get three points on the board.
