For the second week running a tight defensive performance cancelled out any attacking pretentions the home side had. However unlike last week the team did not create enough going forward despite the pace of Charlie Cooke who was unlucky with several decisions. These prevented him from converting some good all round play by Lewes.
Lewes did convert their only short corner but strangely this goal was disallowed. Taking the lead in the early stages of the first half may well have proved significant as despite conceding more short corners the 3's never really looked threatened in defence. Credit to Tom Cassendon who when called upon made a number of crucial saves. Having analysed (if that's possible) their performance the team must continue to develop a style of play that suits their skills and experience. Next week at home to Middleton will be the first test of this!
