A 4-1 loss for Lewes away at Worthing
Lewes faced a tough opposition in the Worthing 2nd XI for their second league fixture. Worthing opened the scoring with 3 quick goals before Lewes regained some composure and stemmed the goal flow. Worthing applied pressure throughout the first half but At half time the score line remained Worthing 3, Lewes 0.
After some strong words and a slight formation change at half time, Lewes came out fighting. Within 5 minutes, Tom Fewster scored from a slightly chaotic short corner (3-1). Lewes continued to apply pressure and would have been deserving of another goal, but 25 minutes into the half, Worthing scored another (4-1). After a substantially better second half from Lewes, the score was 4-1 when the whistle blew.
A strong second half performance from Lewes after a slow start, with much to work on, but many positives. Special mention must go to the youngsters in the team Olly Amos and Ollie loader, as well as to our Men of the match, Loader, Picken and Cornish.
