On Saturday Lewes 2s set out to face Crawley 1s. With a promising start lewes led one goal in front from yet another short corner rebound from Pete Fuller. However this lead was short lived as Crawley went on to score 3 goals. Lewes did look strong however this was similar to previous weeks were mistakes were capitalised on by the opposition. Half time both teams went to their ends at 3-1 to Crawley. At the start of the second half Crawley managed to squeeze another goal through past lewes. This was however followed by a long awaited performance from the forwards where a short corner was won and Pete Fuller pit yet another goal in from a drag flick. After this a ball was played from Max Wootten through to Oliver Amos who managed to turn and find Hugh Middleton at the top of the D. Quickly Hugh making the most of this opportunity put it straight into the bottom corner to put the game at 4-3 to Crawley. With Lewes now very much in the game things were looking promising! However by the full time mark Crawley had managed to find the goal twice more finishing the game at 6-3. The score line aside this was a promising looking game for the Men’s 2s as they managed to finally work as a unit to find the back of the net. Ready for Holcombe away next week.
