Lewes Fall Short on New Pitch

Lewes 2s had their first home game of campaign at fortress Southdown this Saturday although it transpired to be more like a modest sandcastle as the Hailsham tide came in. Against the run of play Lewes found themselves 1 - 0 down. Noah May was a bright spark down the right wing defending intelligently and attacking relentlessly. Despite this Lewes went into the break 2 - 0 down after a Hailsham Short Corner. Lewes came out all guns blazing in the second half but unfortunately it was veteran Hamish Middleton that was in the wars. He gallantly completed the game despite being hit by a ball. Lewes had plenty of possession and short corners but couldn't get the critical shot off and following a further Hailsham short corner goal waved the white flag. 3 - 0.
