Despite showing good attacking promise, the 2s were unable to convert their chances and this lack of finishing was compounded when Horsham scored in the first minute with their first shot of the game.
After the early set back Lewes battled their way into the game and had periods of play where they took Horsham apart. Mike Wood impressed upfront, with Peter Thomas, back from over a year out, linking well. Alex Warner's aerials from the back caused Horsham a lot trouble and both Oli Tapping and Wood were unlucky not to pull Lewes level.
With 10 minutes left at 1-0 down, Lewes pushed forward, taking chances at the back and they allowed Horsham to add 2 goals late on.
