BBHC started strongly and applied early pressure as Lewes were slow out of the blocks. However, a quick counter attack gave Lewes the lead early on as Mike Wood's pinpoint reverse cross was deflected in by Seb Daniels. With the goal, Lewes settled and gained more of the play, earning short corners and chances but chances were wasted by Daniels, and Warner was thawed by the giant BBHC keeper. BBHC stated to apply pressure to the Lewes defence and soon scored a deflection from a quickly taken free hit, making the score 1-1 going in the break.
A rousing half time team talk from Club Captain Josh Pewter kicked Lewes back into life and the midfield of Acton, Pillar and Gill started to assert this dominance, earning early short corners. It was from a short that Lewes took the lead as Warner's initial flick was saved but the rebound fell back to him to coolly flick over the goalie.
With a 2-1 lead and 15 minutes to go, Lewes understandably became nervous but the back line of Fuller, Warner, Green, Anderson and Warner held firm, the latter making a brilliant double save to keep BBHC out and earn a hard fought 2-1 win.
The win leaves the 2s in 10th on 9 points having won 2, drawn 3 and lost 6 going into the Christmas beak.
