The first fifteen minutes saw a strong start from the visitors - dominating possession with Matt Rickson especially effectively down the left hand side. However, and very much against the run of play, it was Old Georgians who broke the deadlock a few minutes later.
This did not deter Lewes who continued to dominate control of the ball and after some excellent work down the right hand side, this time by Ben Cooke and Chris Spruce, Alex Baxter drew the scores level with an excellent back hand finish.
The men in green continued in rich vein over the coming minutes with further breaks down both flanks but were unable to convert their dominance and from a well worked free hit just outside the Lewes 23”, Old Georgians again took the lead making it 2-1 at half time.
Despite strong showings from captain Matt Clarke and Harvey Waller in the second half, the finishing ability of Georgians eventually showed as the hosts ran out 6-1 victors. Lewes will be at home on Saturday against Havant.
