Goalkeeper Declan Rowell and veteran defender David Read were called in to play due to injuries and unavailability but proved more than capable. Lewes were 2-0 up by halftime thanks to a brace from Paul Spruce. Rowell was called upon to make some good saves as the Lewes goal led a charmed life on occasions but in the second half further goals by Rob Heinzl and youngster Sam Newman reflected Lewes’s superiority.
