By half time Lewes were 7-0 up with skipper Rob Heinzl and Paul Spruce grabbing hat-tricks but Alex Pewter scored the best goal running onto a Billy Smart pass rounding the goalkeeper and slipping the ball into the empty goal.
It was no surprise that Lewes struggled to maintain the same momentum in the second half. The hosts came back into it but solid defending by Mark Tonkin and some good saves by goalkeeper Chris Sharpe prevented any goals. Lewes did manage two further goals from Heinzl and Spruce in the final minutes but will know there are tougher tests ahead.
